AURA Innovative Robotics develops and applies robotic solutions in healthcare, particularly through its diagnostic platform OSCANN.

AURA Innovative Robotics develops innovative and affordable medical robotic solutions that are efficient, straightforward, and doctor-friendly. It is a spin-off of the Technical University of Madrid, born within the Center for Automation and Robotics, where some of its founders are developing a comprehensive research applied to different sectors and industries. AURA has the ambition of becoming a leading medtech provider, developing and launching innovative and disruptive solutions which have big impacts in key areas of health systems. AURA is working on two product lines: OSCANN: device for the accurate measurement of ocular and oculocephalic movements (OC / OCM) that allows detecting certain characteristic patterns of neurological disorders (biomarkers). OSCANN allows a functional and non-invasive test of short duration whose result will make it easier for doctors to diagnose pathologies such as attention deficit disorder with or without hyperactivity, autism, fetal alcoholic disorder, Parkinson's, parkinsonism, ataxia, dementia, vertigo and cognitive impairments, among others. ORTE: robotic exo-skeleton, motorized and sensorized, which helps the patient to perform the rehabilitation therapies prescribed by their therapist. It is based on a sophisticated musculoskeletal model that allows the therapist to obtain more precise information about the condition of the patient's upper limb and to design the therapy (movements and forces) that the therapist must perform. The system also allows to monitor the progress of the patient in the rehabilitation process. Motion and force sensors are used that allow knowing the range and scope of the movements that the patient can make and the force that applies at every moment, which is an invaluable information for the medical therapist.
