Founded in 2013, Astroscale is the global leader in on-orbit servicing, dedicated to the secure and sustainable development of space. The company delivers a variety of innovative and scalable on-orbit servicing solutions, including life extension, refurbishment, upgrades, in-situ space situational awareness, end-of-life, and active debris removal. These solutions empower satellite operators to reduce risks, increase returns, and achieve mission success while fostering a sustainable space environment. Astroscale is also defining the economics of on-orbit servicing and collaborating with government and commercial stakeholders to develop norms, regulations, and incentives that promote the sustainable growth of space.  Since its first successful launch in March 2021, Astroscale has proven rendezvous and proximity operations technologies in orbit during the ELSA-d and ADRAS-J missions, establishing the company as a leader in on-orbit servicing.  Astroscale spacecraft have been selected for pioneering missions with JAXA, the U.S. Space Force, the European Space Agency, the UK Space Agency, and Eutelsat. As more satellite operators adopt on-orbit servicing to routinely inspect, relocate, remove, and extend the life of spacecraft, the potential of a circular space economy — and a future of no waste in space — is being unlocked. Headquartered in Japan, Astroscale has a global presence with subsidiaries in the United Kingdom, the United States, France, and Israel.

Our goal is to reduce the risk of losing vital infrastructure in space that we depend on in our daily lives. Our student-led project over the next year and a half is to build, test and launch a small satellite (called a CubeSAT) which will prove the feasibility of a lightweight, inexpensive and never-done-before solution to the growing problem of space junk in Earth's orbit. Here at Kessler, we are driven by a single goal: to do our part in ensuring that humanity can sustainably utilise Earth’s orbit far into the future. With launch providers such as SpaceX, NASA and even our very own RocketLab making launching into space cheaper and more accessible, the level of space junk and debris in orbit is rising at an accelerating rate. We aim to provide satellite manufacturers with an innovative de-orbiting device called an electrodynamic tether, that significantly reduces the cost of de-orbiting and mitigates the risk of satellites becoming space junk. After putting forward our business case and preliminary design report in early 2018, we won the CubeSAT 2018 challenge set out by the Auckland Program for Space Systems. We have secured funding, and plan to launch with RocketLab in late 2019! Want to learn more? Visit our webpage to find out more about our mission and how you can get involved.

At Odin Space, we’re transforming space safety and risk management by delivering the only intelligence on lethal, non-trackable debris. This sub-centimetre debris is capable of causing significant damage to spacecraft, but too small for conventional tracking systems. By pairing real-time debris insight with targeted insurance solutions, we make on-orbit coverage significantly more affordable and effective for satellite operators. Odin’s Nano Sensors are proprietary on-orbit impact detectors that provide instant failure attribution and collision diagnostics, giving spacecraft operators clarity when something goes wrong in space. Combined with our Scout Satellites, which monitor debris risk across key orbital environments, Odin delivers a new layer of real-world intelligence that improves decision-making, strengthens resilience, and unlocks more affordable, targeted on-orbit insurance. Our customers can now access a new collision-focused insurance product underwritten with Lloyd’s of London that is ~100× more affordable than traditional space insurance — lowering barriers for spacecraft operators and accelerating innovation in space. What we do: • Advance on-orbit safety with real-time, high-precision debris detection • Deliver actionable collision diagnostics and failure attribution powered by our proprietary Nano Sensors • Provide a new class of on-orbit insurance that’s affordable, streamlined, and designed for the realities of today’s rapidly growing space ecosystem What sets us apart: • Industry-leading debris detection that identifies threats standard systems miss • Data-driven insights enabling faster, smarter decisions for operators and partners • Innovative insurance solutions that align risk with real-time observability We’re building a safer future in orbit — and inviting partners, customers, and talent who want to be part of the next wave of space innovation.

ESA’s Operations Directorate is primarily based at ESA’s European Space Operations Centre (ESOC), with activities also taking place across the ESA sites. As Europe's centre of excellence for satellite operation, ESOC is home to the engineering teams that control spacecraft in orbit, manage our global tracking station network, and design and build the systems on the ground that support missions in space. It is also the home of ESA’s growing Space Safety programme: protecting lives and infrastructure in space and on Earth from hazards originating in space, such as asteroids, space debris and space weather. Since 1967, more than 80 satellites belonging to ESA and its partners have been successfully flown from the Centre in Darmstadt, Germany. Today, about two dozen satellites are flown from ESOC, with three more flown from ESA’s European Space Security and Education Centre at Redu, Belgium. These include ESA’s planetary, astronomy, exploration and space safety missions, ‘Earth Explorer’ Earth observation missions and technology demonstration missions. They also include the Sentinels, a fleet of spacecraft flown by ESA as part of Europe’s Copernicus programme – the world’s most ambitions Earth observation programme. Smarter Space Traffic Management. To contribute to the evolution of spacecraft operations, Neuraspace aims to solve the space debris problem by protecting satellites operators from the losses caused by collisions, liabilities from leaving debris in orbit and allowing insurance companies to better price the risk that each satellite poses. The continuous increase in space traffic and debris in the last years lead to a significant increase in the amount of information related to conjunction events. This situation poses a very complex challenge to space operators as the conjunction events need a careful “manual'' analysis, which is time, cost and effort consuming. AI (specifically ML) algorithms represent an essential technique in the automation of this process, mainly due to its ability to handle big amounts of data. By using a data driven approach with state of the art Machine Learning techniques, Neuraspace is able to outperform the current methods, while automating the process of collision risk avoidance. Neuraspace enables the timely detection of up to 33% more high-risk collisions that have been so far undetected, thus securing space operations.
