Plug Life Consulting Ltd was founded by Dr Euan McTurk, who has been working on battery technology and electric vehicles since 2009. During that time, he has worked with leading battery research groups in Oxford and WMG, built up a state-of-the-art battery lab in Edinburgh, and launched a YouTube channel, Plug Life Television, which explains the complex electrochemistry in batteries in a way that anyone can understand. In parallel to this, Euan has been heavily involved in the electric vehicle sector in Scotland and across the UK, and has regularly been approached by local authorities and fleet managers regarding their fleet decarbonisation and charging infrastructure strategies, as well as presenting at national conferences and government workshops. Consequently, his contacts and project experience cover a broad range of areas within the fields of battery research, energy storage and transport decarbonisation.
Whilst many people specialise in either electrochemistry or energy/transport system engineering, Euan possesses a rare understanding of the full picture of - and links between - these topics, from fundamental battery electrochemistry, to how this can be successfully integrated into energy and transport applications, and how the usage of the latter impacts the health of the former.
In 2020, it became clear to Euan that there is plenty of appetite from many different businesses and institutions to call upon the expertise of a trusted external consultant to assist with projects that are within Euan's fields of interest. With Plug Life Consulting Ltd, Euan is now able to offer his experience in battery technology and electric vehicles to assist industry, academic, government, business and media organisations in projects relating to battery technology, electric vehicles, energy storage and charging infrastructure. There are already some exciting projects lined up, but if you have a proposal that you would like to discuss, please feel free to get in touch!
