The Faraday Institution is the UK’s independent institute for electrochemical energy storage research, skills development, market analysis, and early-stage commercialisation. It brings together 500+ researchers from 25 UK universities and 140+ industry partners on projects with commercial potential that will reduce battery cost, weight, and volume; improve performance and reliability, and develop whole-life strategies including recycling and reuse.

The Faraday Institution community is a broad group and comprises people and organisations active in the UK electrochemical energy storage sector, including academia – whether directly funded by the Faraday Institution or not – industry, and government. We encourage everyone working in this space to keep in touch with us, via social media and our website, to keep informed of our latest news and events and as we share community successes.
