XBM USA LLC (“XBM”) and its global team are commercializing one of the most promising Lithium Sulfur (Li-S) cathode materials based on its proprietary and patent pending 3D biomass-based cryogel host material named CarbonX™.

This novel technology will enable the commercialization of an unparalleled ultra-high energy extended cycle life NextGen Lithium Sulfur Batteries (LSB).

XBM founders are established specialists with proven track records of developing and commercializing advanced Lithium-ion Battery (LIB) materials.

Initially XBM’s Lithium Battery technology focus is to commercialize and manufacture an advanced Next Generation Li-S Battery cathode material based on a novel doped CarbonX™ material with the following advantages:

1. Li-S Battery cathode material with long life and a capacity of >900 mAh/g.

2. Strong affinity to suppress polysulfide dissolution and shuttle.

3. Porous Hierarchical structure to accommodate large volume change during cycling.

4. Highly conductive framework for high sulfur utilization.

5. Cobalt free, can be combined with either Li-metal or high-capacity silicon anode.

XBM Approach / Strategy:

1. Leverage XBM expertise in carbon materials manufacturing to create an ideal Sulfur support matrix material.

2. Develop and implement low cost Sulfur synthesis process compatible with the carbon platform.

3. Demonstrate success of the approach in full cell Li-S Batteries.

4. Manufacture pilot scale material in volumes suitable for qualification with Li-S Battery customers using low cost process.

XBM’s Carbon Engineering is Key.

XBM looks forward to working with interested organizations, including Battery and EV OEMs.
